Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to common questions.

Working with us
Can you work with me if I don’t live in Georgia?
Very likely. Many of our clients live outside Georgia and work with us remotely. Perfetta Capital is a Georgia-registered investment advisor and can advise clients in states where it is registered, exempt, or excluded from registration. Tell us where you live on the intro call and we’ll confirm before you commit to anything.
Do we ever have to meet in person?
No. Most clients work with us entirely by Zoom and phone. Reviews happen on screen with your plan and portfolio shared, most paperwork is signed electronically, and your plan and accounts are available online between meetings.
What happens on the intro call?
It’s a short conversation. We ask what prompted you to reach out and what you want to get right, explain how we work and what we charge, and answer your questions. If it looks like a good fit, we’ll suggest a next step. If it isn’t, we’ll tell you, and point you somewhere better if we can.
Who will I work with?
Michael Brooks, directly. Perfetta Capital is a one-advisor firm by design, so the person who builds your plan is the same person who manages your portfolio and sits across from you at every review.
How often do we review things?
We monitor your portfolio on an ongoing basis and meet with you at least once a year for a full review, and whenever your circumstances change: a retirement date, a sale, an inheritance, a new grandchild.
Fees & accounts
How are you paid?
We are fee-only. Perfetta Capital is paid by clients through a published annual advisory fee based on the assets we manage, billed monthly. We do not earn commissions on anything we recommend, so our advice isn’t tied to selling a product. Full terms are in our Form ADV Part 2A.
Is there an account minimum?
No. There is no minimum account size to open or keep an advisory account with us. What matters more is fit: we do our best work for families who want a written plan and a disciplined, long-term portfolio.
Where is my money held?
Your accounts stay in your name at an independent custodian, Altruist or Charles Schwab. Perfetta Capital directs the investments but never takes possession of your money. You can log in and see balances, activity and statements at any time.
How hard is it to move my accounts?
Less work than most people expect. Once you decide to go ahead, we prepare the paperwork and handle the transfer requests with your current firm. Transfers are typically done in kind where possible, and we’ll talk through any tax consequences before anything is sold.
Investing & services
Which funds do you use?
Most client portfolios are built primarily with Avantis ETFs, a family of low-cost, broadly diversified funds from Avantis Investors, part of American Century Investments. We chose them because their approach matches ours: research-based, systematic, and focused on cost. We may use other funds where they fit a client’s plan better. We are not affiliated with Avantis and are not paid for using their funds.
Will you pick stocks for me?
No. We build broadly diversified, low-cost portfolios from the market down, guided by academic research rather than forecasts. We don’t try to pick individual winners or time the market. Most portfolios are built primarily with low-cost Avantis ETFs. Read our investment philosophy.
Do you work with business retirement plans?
Yes. We consult on company retirement plans for small businesses: plan design, investment selection and monitoring, and participant education. See retirement-plan consulting.
Next step
Let’s see if we’re a fit.
Start with a short intro call. Tell us what prompted you to reach out, ask anything you like, and leave with a clear sense of whether working together makes sense. No preparation needed.
